Physiotherapist and Lymphatic Therapist Sini, working in specialized healthcare, has been using LymphaTouch as part of her daily work since January 2024. Typical patients include various postoperative cancer patients, burn patients, and patients undergoing lymphatic therapy.

Trial period confirmed the device’s benefits

Before the purchase proposal, it was important in specialized healthcare to use the device in daily work to ensure its suitability and necessity.

“LymphaTouch was already familiar, but in one training session, it was mentioned that the device could be tried at one’s workplace for free. The idea for using the device was particularly for scar treatment, especially for adherent and contracted scars that cannot be manually lifted, and to increase the mobility of the area surrounding the scar. I contacted LymphaTouch, and the trial use was arranged for autumn 2023. After the trial, we were very satisfied with the results obtained with the device, made a purchase proposal, which was approved, and we received the device at the end of 2023.”

LymphaTouch improves scar functionality and appearence

In specialized healthcare, the device is mainly used for tight scars, such as postoperative breast removal scars and the surrounding tissues, as well as for lymphatic patients to soften fibrotic tissue.

“A typical patient for whom we use LymphaTouch is a breast cancer patient who has developed a long scar after breast removal and axillary evacuation and has been cautious about moving the scar or shoulder joint for some reason. Another typical patient is one who has a tight scar due to the extent of the cancer.

We have been able to affect the appearance and mobility of scars with the device. We have managed to raise contracted scars back to the same level as the rest of the skin, which has, in turn, affected tissue fluid circulation and the feeling of tightness, for example, in upper limb movements. One patient, whose scar underwent a significant cosmetic change after the treatment period, said that we perform cosmetic surgeries without knives. In the treatment of fibrotic tissue, it is easier for the therapist as the device can easily soften the tissue without having to massage it with fingers.”

LymphaTouch is often used in scar treatments for about 20 minutes, with a 10 mm cup used over the scar and a 60 mm cup for the surrounding tissues. The device is often used in conjunction with other techniques, such as stretching scars and skin, fascia techniques, movement therapy, scar taping, and self-care guidance.

I would rate the LymphaTouch device a full 10 out of 10, we have been extremely satisfied!
